The department of Var is rich of pretty villages

St Ferreol, Mons, Fayence, Les Arcs, Lorgues…

Some were elected among the 127 most beautiful villages in France such as Seillans, Bargemont….

Draguignan is proud of its 17th century clock tower with its wrought iron campanile, and tradition museum. The legend says that the city was harassed by a dragon living in the marshes surrounding the town. Saint Hermentaire killed it and has his statue in the church of St Michel. Please, pay a tribute to the 871 American soldiers who are buried in the American cemetery.

Le Muy, Les Arcs… are the domain of some of the best wineries in South Provence (Ste Roseline, Rasque…).

The Thoronet is one of the three major abbeys in Provence, the two others being in Luberon (Silvacane and Senanque).

Further you can see Carces lake, Cotignac, Entrecasteaux and its castle, Salernes, famous for its tiles, Villecroze, Aups and finally Tourtour which was also elected one of the 127 most beautiful villages in France
